About Me

Describe Yourself:I am a 52 year old mother of two who loves to take pictures. My kids say I am "obsessed" but I say "impassioned". I work as an insurance underwriter to pay the bills but tell everyone including my boss that I would rather be taking pictures everyday. It helps that my boss is my best friend. I fit it in whenever I can. My daughter is 18 and my son is 10. I am engaged to Dennis. I am very happy.

Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:Folk, classical, jazz, good country (in that order)<br>Favorite Folk - Cheryl Wheeler at this time - too many to pick one though, Favorite classical - Beethoven<br>Favorite Country - Emmylou Harris<br>Yo-Yo-Ma - all of his stuff. My Dad was a Classical Pianist and my bedroom was over his piano so I woke up to Debussey, Chopin, Mozart -ETC. Lucky girl huh?

Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:John Grisham - any, Mysteries in general, Any Jane Austin, Sue Grafton, Cookbooks - I have way too many but keep buying them. Interests and Activities:My kids. My wonderful mother - love to do stuff with her. Dennis. No special order here., Photography, photography, photography, hiking, Spinning at the Y, camping, movies, online poker (one game a day), cooking, gardening, collecting antiques. Oh, shopping too. It doesn't fit with the above mentioned but I have to be honest.<br>Love picking vegetables - don't love the weeding. I could pick raspberries for a living but no money in it.

Morgan Aleeta, Jan 16, 2008, 11:01AM ESTYou have quite a talent. I appreciate the effort and patience involved photographing animals. I left this message on one of your images but it bears repeating. A friend of someone I know was walking her lab by a brackish pond where a mating pair of swans had a nest. The lab, a water & bird dog, went into the water to play but the swans were exceptionally territorial at this stage and enveloped the dog with their wings and drowned it. The poor woman was helpless on the shore as she watched in horror.
And there are numerous students over the years at UMass-Amherst who have learned a similiar lesson from the swans on the campus pond. So, please, do be careful out there. -
